What Does My NFRC Sticker Actually Mean?
When it comes to buying energy efficient products we have you covered. We test our products and offer you options that meet and exceed industry standards. We understand these standards, but we want you, the end user, to understand them too.
You may have seen the National Fenestration Rating Council (NFRC) sticker on the sash, but do you know what the numbers and ratings mean? The stickers are issued by the NFRC, a non-profit organization which sponsors an energy efficiency certification and labeling program for windows, doors, and skylights.
Products are independently tested, certified and labeled, so you can be confident they will perform the way they are advertised. And as you will see, the ENERGY STAR program uses U-Factor, Solar Heat Gain Coefficient and Air Leakage to qualify products for certification.
Let’s break down the different ratings so you understand what you’re buying and can make the best decision for your home.
