The Sunrise Story

Sunrise Windows was formed in 1994 by Gary Delman, Larry VanDeVelde, and Elliott Delman. For many prior years, these three worked at another nationally known manufacturer of vinyl windows which was founded by Gary's father. After that company was sold to a publicly traded company, Gary, Elliott and Larry continued to work there, but over the ensuing seven years, the direction of the company changed dramatically from the initial focus. An entrepreneurial, innovative company started to evolve into a typical corporate environment. The needs of the customers and the creativity of the employees were no longer paramount, and so, Gary, Elliott and Larry decided there had to be a better way. By continuing to listen to the wants and desires of customers and employees, Gary, Elliott and Larry set off to design a brand new company, that being Sunrise Windows.

In 1994, when Sunrise was formed, there were no employees, no customers and no products. There was just a passion to design and manufacture a replacement window that was better looking, better performing, and more reliable than the typical replacement window. And by listening to the input from customers, Sunrise's products were created. One by one, customers "gave us a chance", an order here, an order there. And by paying attention to the minutest details, and by rapidly responding to customers' needs, and by creating an environment where customers knew they were king, orders continued to come in, jobs were created, and a company was formed.

If we keep our customers happy, odds are they'll keep buying from us. How do we keep them happy? With our people and our products. And a drive to always improve. We do this by listening and learning from our customers. Our people drive the relationship with our customers.

Our products must be unique. There are over 1,000 companies making vinyl replacement windows. We must be different. We must have innovative products. We must be creative. We must develop features that provide advantages to our customers so they can be different from all of their competitors. We must be flexible. We must be able to quickly change and adapt to the needs of the marketplace.

Therefore, we must have a drive to continuously improve every aspect of our business. Our people can always do better. Our products can always be better. Our company can always get better. We must insist that we are always working to improve each and every aspect of our company.
